Boost your Shopify store's customer experience with the power of Hulul chat functionalities!
This guide empowers you to add the Hulul platform to your Shopify store, unlocking powerful features like chat-based product browsing and order tracking.
Prerequisites
Before proceeding, ensure you have:
- An active store on Shopify Marketplace.
- Access to your Shopify store domain.
- Access to the Shopify Marketplace to search and install the Hulul app.

Understanding User Roles and Permissions
- Admin, App Manager, and Owner roles can install the app.
- Other user roles have non-clickable access to install or uninstall.
Installing the Hulul App
To install the Hulul app from the Shopify Marketplace:
- Navigate to the Shopify Marketplace and search for "Hulul".
- Click on the Hulul app and press the "Install" button.
- Follow prompts to grant permissions and complete installation.
Creating a Hulul Account (if needed)
If you're new to Hulul, you'll need to create an account. Click here to sign up.
Setting Up the Shopify App
Once you've created an account on Hulul:
- Open the Hulul platform dashboard.
- Navigate to the Marketplace section within Hulul.
- Find the "Shopify" app and click on it to view details.
- Follow the instructions to set up the Shopify app. This typically involves entering your store domain and selecting the features you want to use (e.g., product listing, order tracking).
Step 1: Credentials
- Enter your Store Domain: In the designated field, enter the URL of your Shopify store.
- Select Features: Choose the features you want to use with the Shopify app:
- Product Listing: Allows customers to explore products directly within the chat window.
- Order Tracking: Enables customers to track their order status through the chat.
Note: The "Abandonment Carts" feature is currently unavailable for selection.
- Click "Next": Once you've entered your store domain and chosen at least one feature, the "Next" button will become active. Click on it to proceed.
Step 2: Processing
Based on your selections, folders containing pre-built elements for chat functionalities (Actions, Messages, etc.) will be automatically cloned within Hulul for seamless integration.
Important Note: Ensure unique names and attributes for folders and flows within your Hulul bot to avoid cloning conflicts.
You'll find the Shopify folders in the Flow Builder tab, where you can add items for use in your bots.
Step 3: Finish
Upon successful cloning, a confirmation message appears. Click "Done" to proceed.
Key Points
- A valid Store Domain and at least one selected feature are mandatory for successful installation.
Managing App Settings
Access the Shopify app page within your Hulul Marketplace dashboard. Here, you can:
- View your store name.
- Toggle features (Product Listing, Order Tracking).
- Access chat widget settings.
📌 Remember to click "Save" after making any changes to apply your configurations effectively.
Enabling/Disabling the Chat Widget
- Navigate to the Chat Widget settings.
- Locate the "Copy Webchat Script" icon. Click the "Copy to clipboard".
- Open your Shopify admin panel in a separate tab or window. (We recommend keeping the Hulul account and Shopify admin open in separate tabs for this process.)
- Navigate to Themes in your Shopify admin.
- Select the theme you want to edit and click "Actions" followed by "Edit code".
- Locate the theme.liquid file. This file is usually the main layout file for your theme.
- Find the closing body tag
</body>
. This tag typically marks the end of the website's content. - Paste the copied webchat script just before the closing body tag
</body>
. Make sure to paste the entire script without any modifications. - Click "Save" to save your changes to the theme.liquid file.
- Visit your Shopify store in a new tab or window to test the chat widget. The chat widget should now be visible and functional on your store's frontend.
Editing Features
You can edit your selected features to customize your app settings further.
Unselect a feature to remove the associated cloned folder, or select a feature to add the cloned folder.
📌 Remember to click "Save" after making any changes to apply your configurations effectively.
Uninstalling the Shopify App
Click "Disconnect" to uninstall Hulul from your Shopify store. This removes the app code, store details, and cloned folders.
